The MG36 is weapon unlocked at 5250 Battlescore. This light machine gun designed to be sprayed from the hipfire as opposed to suppresive fire.

History

The MG36 is the squad automatic weapon varaint of the G36 Rifle. Designed with a heavier barrel for increased heat and cook-off resistance, the weapon is designed to provide better sustained fire capability and is typically fired from a 100 round drum magazine. The weapon is no longer offered by Heckler & Koch.

General Information

The MG36's damage is average for a light machine gun, doing 150 damage at 15m and dropping slowly to 120 damage at 100m and beyond. This low damage drop gives the weapon somewhat consistent damage at even the longest ranges. Firing at 950 RPM, the weapon can output this damage rather rapidly.

However, compared to other light machine guns the weapon's aimed spread per shot is much higher which makes the weapon far less accurate quickly under sustained fire. Also unlike other light machine guns, the hipfire spread per shot is substantially lower in comparison which makes the weapon somewhat usable from the hip despite its large hipfire spread.

With a magazine size of 100 rounds, the weapon can fire for a reasonable amount of time before reloading even with the high rate of fire. Because it is a magazine fed weapon as opposed to a belt fed weapon, the weapon reloads marginally faster than its peers at only 3 seconds.

  • The sight uses iron sights as opposed to the inbuilt scope of a G36 Rifle, which the sight model is based on the ones seen on the G36C.
    • The magazine model in game is the Beta-C Mag.
  • The reload animation is very similar to the reload animation of the BW LMG-X.
• The weapon's ingame performance is based on the modeller's experience in using the weapon in Phantom Forces.
• The iron sights of the weapon used to be horribily misalligned, this was fixed when the weapon recieved a remodel.
