The Destroyer is a sea vehicle in Base Wars and is the tip of the spear in naval warfare. Being the toughest vehicle in the game, the vehicle boasts powerful weaponry that is only limited by line of sight. The vehicle also can seat two gunners.

History

Note: This history is entirely fictional

The Destroyer is a name used to refer to the Exitium Class Light Cruiser warships mass produced by Xercephron-LJX Industries. Constructed out of highly durable armor and novel internal superstructure, the Exitium Class Light Cruisers is well protected and armed for a vessel of it's size and class, entering the battle with a modular remote weapons station and two modular secondary turrets. To reduce operational requirements, the ship has a large computer made by Srogthama which oversee the majority of operational tasks, such as fire control, target acquisition, and early warning. It automates the vessel to the point where it may be operated by a single person.

General Information

The Destroyer boasts very high health, one of the highest in the game. At 8000 HP and boasting a 73% damage resistance from all incoming damage which said resistance can be increased by certain upgrades, the Destroyer can take an incredible amount of punishment. The Destroyer's default primary weapon is the Triple Barrel HE Cannon which is a decent all around weapon able to deal high damage to infantry and most vehicles, though it is advised to take other options against a Battle Tank or Artillery.

The Destroyer also comes with two gunners equipped with double barreled 20mm Machine Guns that can easily mow down infantry and do significant damage to light armor. The gunners can also repair the vehicle by pressing E, repairing 900 HP per gunner, and thus 1800 in total. As with other vehicles that allow gunners to self repair, there is a 15 second cooldown per player, meaning that switching seats will not bypass this, and the repair is done over time, so incoming damage may negate the repair all together.

Notably however, it has the weakness of being rather slow, at 70 km/h, which is as fast as the Battle Tank, although it's still fast enough to get you places. Compounding this is the size making the Destroyer a slow, ponderous, and a large target, which is further exacerbated by it's weakness from the Artillery, as they have high damage multipliers against sea vehicles.

The fact that the Destroyer is a sea vehicle also limits its potential as vehicles or infantry can easily hide behind the small hills, and are more or less completely safe indoors. Still, the Destroyer is a capable vehicle that has powerful weapons at its disposal.

Loadout Slots

The Destroyer can use a variety of weapons, they range from being effective against infantry, aircraft or basically any other vehicle, though they require accuracy due to the ranges the weapons are used for. The two gunners has access to weapons that fill the same role as the primary weapon.

Primary Weapons

The Triple Barrel HE Cannon is the Tier 1 primary weapon of the Destroyer and is a rapid fire weapon against vehicles and infantry.

General Information

The Triple Barrel HE Cannon's direct damage is relatively low at 800 damage per shot with very high splash damage of 1250 within a huge 10m radius. This rather low damage is made up by the weapon's relatively high rate of fire of 240 RPM and while the magazine size is only 3 rounds, the weapon reloads very fast at only 1 second. This allows the weapon to output large amounts of damage quickly against soft targets.

Unfortunately, while against infantry it's damage is high, against a vehicle it will struggle somewhat, although it's high reload rate fast RoF and decent projectile velocity of 300 m/s somewhat offset this. Do note that this weapon is very unreliable against air units.

Damage Multipliers

These are the damage multipliers to various vehicles

  • Aircraft (except Helicopter Carrier): x0.8
  • Helicopter Carrier: x0.9
  • Battle Tank: x0.5
  • Artillery: x0.5
  • Jeep and ATV: x1
  • Spawn Truck: x0.8
  • Navy: x1.75
  • Defensive Turrets: x0.3

The Dual Flak Cannon is a Tier 2 primary weapon that is unlocked at 5000 Battlescore and is extremely deadly against aircraft.

==General Information The Dual Flak Cannon's direct damage is very low at only 167 per shot within 360m and drops greatly to 66.8 damage at 400m. Even though it fires two bullets per shot, the fact that its direct damage is very low along side the very low damage multipliers, makes the weapon extremely ineffective against anything but infantry. At anything farther than point blank, using the weapon against infantry is also ill-advised. All in all, the weapon is the worst vehicle weapon for direct damage output.

The main purpose of the weapon however, is is to provide an anti air curtain at close to medium range. When shooting near aircraft, it will deal 90 splash damage within a large 12m radius. While the damage may not seem like much, the the two rounds per shot (180 damage, plus any bullet damage), fire rate of 480 RPM and a colossal 150 round magazine, allow the Dual Flak to rip through air units like paper. Not even the Helicopter Carrier can survive being fired upon by the Dual Flak Cannon for long. Do keep in mind that the Flak will not explode at longer ranges, sharply neutering it's effectiveness.

Damage Multipliers

  • Aircraft (except Helicopter Carrier): x0.05
  • Helicopter Carrier: x0.0075
  • Battle Tank: x0.2
  • Artillery: x0.2
  • Jeep and ATV: x0.15
  • Spawn Truck: x0.1
  • Navy: x0.15
  • Defensive Turrets: x0.3

The Rampage Rocket Pods is a Tier 3 primary weapon that is unlocked at 15000 Battlescore and is a better Triple HE Cannon in all but name.

General Information

The Rampage Rocket Pods' damage is high at 1250 per rocket with 1000 splash damage within a 5m radius. The damage is essentially just the Triple HE Cannon if its direct damage and splash damage values were swapped. Though overall the weapon performs better damage wise in comparison.

The weapon's rate of fire is also high at 480 RPM and while it can only fire 6 rockets, it can fire those 6 rockets in quick succession, doing large amounts of damage in a single volley. The weapon also reloads slightly slower at 2.5 seconds.

Damage towards infantry is not as deadly when compared to the Triple HE Cannon as said weapon has higher splash damage within a bigger radius. Towards vehicles however, the increased rate of fire, magazine size and damage gives the weapon higher DPS than the other primary weapons.

The 150mm HEAT Cannon is a Tier 4 Primary weapon that is unlocked upon getting 10 Rank S Vehicles and is extremely powerful at the cost of having sluggish performance.

General Information

The 150mm HEAT Cannon is incredibly powerful, doing 5500 damage per shot along with 1500 splash damage within a large 10m radius. This high damage allows it to easily obliterate any infantry within range, no armor the player could wear can withstand a direct hit.

Against vehicles however, performance is mixed. The weapon would instantly obliterate any aircraft aside from the Helicopter Carrier. Towards ground vehicles, the Jeep and ATV would instantly be destroyed while vehicles like the Battle Tank and Artillery may take more shots to destroy. Towards other navy vehicles, most will go down in a handful of shots while fighting another Destroyer may take more shots to destroy.

Though such power comes at a downside that it fires slower than any other vehicle weapon at 45 RPM. Even though the weapon is full auto, it is still slow enough that a faster moving target can easily find cover by the time the weapon fires another shot. Along with a rather low velocity of 300 m/s considering its damage potential, the weapon is tougher to use at range.

  • Spawn Truck: x0.8
  • Navy: x1.75
  • Defensive Turrets: x0.3

Secondary and Tertiary

The 20mm Machine Gun is a Tier 1 secondary/tertiary weapon for the Destroyer and is essentially a navy variant of the 20mm Heavy Machine Gun seen on the Battle Tank and the Jeep.

General Information

The 20mm Machine Gun's stats is essentially the same as the 20mm Heavy Machine Gun in almost every way, 250 damage within 100m and 188 damage at 150m and beyond, a rate of fire of 750 RPM, bullet velocity of 800 m/s and a reload speed of 3 seconds. The only major difference is that it's magazine is 30 rounds bigger, having 80 rounds compared to 50 rounds.

Every aspect related to its usage and performance is the same as the ones seen on the Battle Tank and Jeep, but it can be summarized as: DPS to any target, best against light vehicles and infantry.

Damage Multipliers

  • Aircraft (except Helicopter Carrier): x0.5
  • Helicopter Carrier: x0.6
  • Battle Tank: x0.3
  • Artillery: x0.3
  • Jeep and ATV: x0.3
  • Spawn Truck: x0.2
  • Navy: x0.5
  • Defensive Turrets: x0.25

The Flak Cannon is a Tier 2 secondary/tertiary Weapon that is unlocked at 5000 Battlescore and is the single barreled counterpart of the Dual Flak Cannon.

General Information

The Flak Cannon's statistics are very similar to the Dual Flak Cannon which is a primary weapon. Doing 167 damage with 360m and 66.8 damage at 400m which barely does damage to vehicles, a fire rate of 480 RPM, a bullet velocity of 600 m/s and a reload time of 3 seconds.

Where the weapon is different in comparison is that the splash damage is slightly higher at 120 splash damage within the same 12m radius. This is to compensate the fact that the weapon lacks the double shot nature of the Dual Flak Cannon. The weapon also has half the magazine size.

If used in combination with another Flak Cannon and the Dual Flak Cannon, it will make the Destroyer a floating aircraft eraser, at the cost of being able to kill other stuff.

  • Defensive Turrets: x0.3

The HEAT Rounds is a Tier 3 secondary/tertiary weapon unlocked at 15000 Battlescore and is a high damage single shot cannon.

General Information

The HEAT Rounds' damage is relatively high doing 2200 damage per shot and doing 1000 splash damage within a 5m radius. This damage allows the weapon to be lethal to infantry if hit directly though some may survive its splash damage. Damage towards vehicles is high as the weapon can easily take down most aircraft in a single shot as well as most light vehicles. Towards armored vehicles like Battle Tanks or Artillery is rather low and would require far more shots to destroy, by which time you would have likely taken heavy damage as well.

As a single shot weapon, rate of fire is mostly not a factor. Though due to it reloading rather fast at 2 seconds, the effective rate of fire is 30 RPM. The weapon also has moderately high velocity for a sea based weapon at 250 m/s

Damage Multipliers

These are the damage multipliers to various vehicles

  • Aircraft (except Helicopter Carrier): x0.8
  • Helicopter Carrier: x0.9
  • Battle Tank: x1.2
  • Artillery: x1.2
  • Jeep and ATV: x1
  • Spawn Truck: x0.8
  • Navy: x2
  • Defensive Turrets: x0.3

The 30mm Chaingun is a Tier 4 secondary/tertiary weapon unlocked upon getting 10 Rank S Vehicles and can effectively shred any target within range.

General Information

The 30mm Chaingun's damage is moderate at 250 damage within 150m and dropping to 125 damage at 200m. This rapid drop in damage means that the weapon is best suited in closer ranged engagements as damage would be maximized. This is further encouraged by the weapon's sheer inaccuracy at range.

The weapon does however have a very high rate of fire of 1500 RPM, however the weapon has a slow windup of approximately 2-3 seconds to achieve its maximum rate of fire, which does limit the weapon's reactivity if taken by surprise. The magazine size is also very high at 120 rounds and combined with the rate of fire means the weapon can output a huge amounts of damage into a single target. The weapon does reload rather slowly at 4 seconds, so make your shots count.

Defense

No Armor is the default defense option for the Destroyer and provides increased protection from any damage

General Information

Despite the name, the defense option actually does provide some armor as it will reduce all incoming damage by 73%. This by itself makes the vehicle harder to be destroyed by enemy vehicles or infantry rockets.

Due to various damage multipliers for the infantry rockets, the increase in damage resistance makes destroying the Destroyer time consuming and will require multiple visits to the ammo pad in order to restock on ammo. Vehicle weapons also struggle to effectively damage the Destroyer as they would require far more shots to destroy the vehicle.

While vehicles like the Artillery and other Destroyers still deal very high damage per shot towards the vehicle, it stops the two mentioned vehicles from instantly destroying the vehicle in a single shot from any distance.

Armor Lv 1 is a defense option that is unlocked at 5000 battlescore and gives more overall resistance when compared to "No Armor".

General Information

Compared to the "No Armor" option, it provides a damage resistance of 82.4% from No Armor's 73.3%. Due to how percentages work, this greatly increases the amount of shots needed to effectively destroy the Destroyer.

Infantry weapons would struggle to make any significant damage to the Destroyer and is a very time consuming process to take down a Destroyer with Armor Lv 1.

Weapons that would usually tear other vehicles apart like the 30mm Chaingun or the 20mm Machine Gun would do pitiful damage to the Destroyer which when fully crewed can out-heal the damage dealt. More powerful vehicle weapons would require even more shots to take down the Destroyer.

Artillery and other Destroyers would need more shots to take down the vehicle effectively as well.

Armor Lv 2 is a defense option that is unlocked at 15000 battlescore and gives the highest overall damage resistance out of the three.

General Information

Compared to "Armor Lv 1", Armor Lv 2 provides a damage desistance of 86.7% from 82.4%. This makes the vehicle incredibly hard to take down swiftly solo.

Infantry weapons are effectively useless against the Destroyer with Armor Lv 2. While one could use the Deployable Rocket Launcher and output damage quickly, the low damage of the weapon and the small ammo reserve of the weapon would need multiple visits to the ammo pad to restock on ammo. Using any other rocket launcher would prove futile.

Vehicle weapons also tend to struggle against a Destroyer with Armor Lv 2. Artillery and other Destroyers also somewhat struggle to destroy the vehicle swiftly and would require quite some focus to take down especially if its a fully crewed Destroyer.

Do not be fooled that such a vehicle is invincible however as lone captains will still easily be overwhelmed under concentrated fire. Beware airstrikes and AP Shells from Artillery too.

Trivia

  • The model of the Destroyer is made by Cephro
  • Despite being called a Destroyer, the vehicle isn't technically a destroyer due to the number of cannons on the ship as a destroyer typically only has a single cannon on its deck as well as being rather big.
    • The vehicle is more akin to a Battleship in terms of how it performs ingame.
  • The model apparently lacks any propeller or rudder, though propulsion and turning may be done by other means.
  • The Destroyer is by far the slowest vehicle in the game.
  • The Destroyer was once formerly known as the "Battle Boat" and was a smaller boat with a single mounted cannon on the roof.
